"Columbus was Last"

Columbus Was Last in 1492.
Columbus Was Last in 1492. TCCSA August 2022 He was beaten by the Phoenicians 2000 BC, Greeks 90 AD, Hebrew Roman Christians 790 AD, Vikings 1362 AD, Chinese 1421 AD and many others. This program will be a survey of pre-Columbian visitors to the New World since the time of Christ. With emphasis on evidence of the Vikings visiting near Alexandria MN and the Viking Rune Stone.
Artifacts found in fields show evidence for Vikings in the area. Critics say that they are things that Scandinavians brought with them to the New World in the 1800's and lost them in the fields where others plowed them up latter. Imagine these poor immigrants coming to Minnesota. They are allowed to bring one trunk with them. These artifacts are antiques and worth a lot on money. They bring them and then loose them in the fields. I don't think so.
1. They could not afford them to start with.
2. If they could afford them, they would not be so careless as to take them out and loose them in the fields and woods! Below I show my photo of a Viking ship mooring stone at Pelican Rapids, MN. 2003. A hole was drilled and a rod inserted to hold a mooring line from their ship.

Right: Viking Altar stone near Sauk Center, MN. Left: Holes cut to hold two rods for a sacrament table. A dried river bed is nearby where the Vikings moored their ship. I took a group there with Adventure Safaris in 1995 and revisited it in Sept. 2017.

"The Soft Side of a Mean Dinosaur"
To date, the Dinosaur Soft Tissue Research Institute (dstri.org) has published 7 papers in peer-reviewed publications on the characteristics of dinosaur soft tissue (dST). Most people are unaware of the presence and the very high preservation of dST still present in dinosaur bones buried just below the surface all throughout the Hell Creek Formation.
Folks are shocked when they learn that dinosaur bones are still bone and not rock, and that the soft tissue within them is the norm and not the exception. In this presentation, the Dinosaur Soft Tissue Research Institute will review our published findings (Cambridge University Press) from the Journal, Microscopy Today.
We will review our world-first findings of soft sheets of fibrillar bone, veins, vessels, cells and even nerves (full of lipids) in dinosaurs including Nanotyrannus, a fierce raptor-like dinosaur that some refer to as a juvenile T. rex. We will show that most of the bones we collect are full of blood clots revealing disseminated intravascular coagulation and hypercoagulopathy (yes, Google these).
Many bones that we have collected, and have harvested soft tissue from, will be on display and can be handled by attendees. Free copies of our "Old Stretchy" books will be given away to all who desire them.

Biologos: Behind the Facade
On April 18, 2015, Biologos held a seminar at Constance Evangelical Free Church in Andover Minnesota, co-sponsored by MacLaurin CSF, a Christian study center at the University of Minnesota, which recently merged with Christian Student Fellowship. The title was "Integration of Science and Faith" and the goal was stated like this: "What if, rather than emphasizing opposition, we sought to understand the common ground shared by science and faith, without compromising either the science or Scripture and the Christian faith?" Speakers were John Walton (Professor of Old Testament at Wheaton) and Keith B. Miller (Professor of Geology at Kansas State).

Finally Collins admitted that his original contention, that "junk DNA proved evolution," was fallacious -- in fact it was "hubris." So-called "Junk" actually has critical regulatory functions. But he has not so far called off the attack dogs of Biologos who continue to seek to deride, belittle and mock the teaching of special creation by Christians. Come on, Dr. Collins!

Review of the 1996 Book:
The Scandal of the Evangelical Mind
by Mark Noll PhD
reviewed by Ross S. Olson MD
Posted with permission of Creation Research Society Quarterly
This is not a new book. It was published in 1996. But it has had a long and influential life. Why should a pediatrician review it? And why now? First, I emerged from my medical training in 1967 as a theistic evolutionist, having been thoroughly indoctrinated in "the truth of evolution." What brought me back to Biblical creation was scientific evidence. Therefore, my attention was drawn to this book when it was quoted to me as the authoritative refutation of my creationist views.
I heard the author being interviewed by Ken Myers of "Mars Hill Audio," describing creationism as consisting of pronouncements by rural pastors unqualified to discuss science. I emailed Dr. Noll and asked if he had read young earth creationist writings. He replied that he only reads qualified experts in the field. I reminded him that he himself is considered a qualified expert, although he had not gone to the primary sources.
In 2021, I finally purchased his book. Most of it looks, to this non-historian, to be a masterful synthesis of church history, focusing briefly on the church fathers and the reformers. Most of the book addresses evangelical phenomena beginning with the Whitefield and Wesley revivals and the first and second great awakenings in America. He laments the lack of serious scholarship within the movement and analyzes the possible factors that contributed.
He draws on the writings of hundreds of experts, as evidenced by 367 endnotes. He does not dwell on the Scopes Trial which might have precipitated an evaluation of "trial by media" coordinated by anti-creationists. Instead, he simply designates it as the end of the era dominated by William Jennings Bryan.
Noll takes a panoramic view, essentially from 30,000 feet, that does not swoop down to turn over rocks until it gets to the only young earth creationists he references, Drs. Whitcomb and Morris. The author quotes from the introduction to The Genesis Flood, highlighting the authors' goal of ascertaining what the Bible has to say about the Flood and orienting the data of the relevant sciences (p.201-202).
To Dr. Noll, that sounds like pounding square pegs into round holes and he never looks at the results of that change of orientation, either within Whitcomb and Morris's book or the tsunami of research that followed. The only other ally of modern creationism who is mentioned is Phillip Johnson and he is only applauded for addressing the philosophical overreach of naturalism (p.197), ignoring Johnson's proposal that the validity of scientific evidence needs to be evaluated by legal standards.

New Book on Hominid Fossils
A Review of Contested Bones
by Christopher Rupe and Dr. John Sanford
reviewed by Ross S. Olson MD
In his personal prologue, John Sanford admits that he, as a mature scientist in the field of genetics, had accepted the story of human evolution without question until he determined that his own field showed the impossibility of that scenario. He collaborated to write this book because when he presents his case against evolution, as laid out in his book Genetic Entropy, people argue that he must be wrong because the fossils clearly show ape to human evolution. In tackling that topic, he answers the objection that neither he nor Christopher Rupe have PhDs in paleoanthropology by pointing out that paradigm-challenging ideas never come from within a field, where "group think" rules. The book systematically analyzes the data, picking up the thread begun in the 1992 book, Bones of Contention by Marvin Lubenow. Time has not helped the evolutionist cause. More specimens and better analytical techniques have solidified the case.

Purpose: To work with Biblical creation museums and ministries around the world to credibly present the historical authenticity of Genesis, affirm the faith of Christians, and declare the salvation message to the lost. As we endeavor to unify creation museums and ministries, we seek to provide them with strategic guidance for tactically presenting biblical creation evidence and debunking evolution.

God Does Not Believe In Atheists!
Really! God does not believe in atheists. Sure, He knows there are those who claim there is no God. But first of all, He calls them fools. (Psalm 14:1)
Then He says that deep down inside, they actually know He is there. They did not get to where they are by way of intellectually honest inquiry but are rather practicing suppression of the truth. And because of this, they are not only without excuse but objects of His extreme anger. (Romans 1:18-21)
Further, Scripture predicts that eventually every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)
Some will bow in grateful praise for forgiveness and a future eternity with Him. (Revelation 21:1-7)
Some will bow with gritted teeth, in dread and remorse for wasted life and opportunities, recognizing that they have been willing victims of the master deceiver and will share his fate. (Revelation 20:10-15)

Thought
There are all sorts of different reasons for believing in God, and here I will mention only one. It is this. Supposing there was no intelligence behind the universe, no creative mind. In that case nobody designed my brain for the purpose of thinking. It is merely that when the atoms inside my skull happen for physical or chemical reasons to arrange themselves in a certain way, this gives me as a by-product, the sensation I call thought. But if so, how can I trust my own thinking to be true? It is like upsetting a milk-jug and hoping that the way the splash arranges itself will give you a map of London. But if I cannot trust my own thinking, of course I cannot trust the arguments leading to atheism and therefore the reason to be an atheist, or anything else. Unless I believe in God, I cannot believe in thought or anything else: so I can never use thought to disbelieve in God.
